FOR FANS & SENDERS
Sending Your First Flower Stand
Q01What exactly is a flasta?
A flasta (flower stand) is a celebratory standing flower arrangement sent by fans and associates to performers at concerts, live shows, stage performances, and events. Flowers are arranged on a tall stand with a name plate, panels, and decorations, and displayed in the lobby or at the venue entrance before the show. Unlike an ordinary bouquet, it is a special gift that requires delivery, installation, and collection to be managed.
Q02I want to send a flower stand. What should I check first?
Before ordering, confirm six things: (1) whether the event accepts flower stands, (2) the venue's and organizer's regulations, (3) size limits, (4) delivery dates and times, (5) collection conditions, and (6) the rules for name plates. Most of this is announced on the event's official site under "flowers". If anything is unclear, ask the organizer's contact point or your florist. See the guidelines for users for details.
Q03Will my stand be placed where I want it?
Not necessarily. Placement is decided by the venue and organizer, and neither the florist nor the sender can always choose the spot. The venue may also require changes to size, decorations, or specifications even after you order. Tell your florist your preference when ordering, but on the understanding that it may not be possible.
Q04If the event is cancelled or postponed, will I get a refund?
It depends on your florist's terms, how far production has progressed, and whether any insurance or compensation program applies. Refunds can be difficult once production is under way, so always confirm cancellation and refund terms and the policy for cancellations and postponements when you order. The association is studying compensation programs with insurers to reduce the risk of users losing large sums due to force-majeure cancellations.
Q05Can I bring in decorations such as plush toys or panels?
That depends on the venue's regulations and your florist. For items you want returned, consult your florist before ordering and confirm whether return is possible, how, and who pays. Open flames, liquids, food, items that scatter (confetti, glitter), sharp objects, devices that make sound, and GPS or recording devices cannot be used, nor can anything the venue or organizer prohibits.
Q06Is there anything to watch out for in decorations and messages?
Avoid content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or publicity rights (such as unauthorized use of official images or logos), and anything involving performers' personal information or privacy. If the venue or organizer judges content inappropriate, the stand may be refused or removed.
FOR FLORISTS

Q07How do I become an association member florist?
Start by telling us you would like to join via the contact form. After a consultation, we confirm the membership criteria — practical experience or association-designated training/review, a system for checking regulations, clear responsibility for delivery, installation, and collection, a system for explaining terms to users, a reporting system for trouble, safe production and installation, compliance with collection rules, liability insurance where necessary, and no ties to antisocial forces — and proceed to registration. See Activities and the guidelines for member florists for details.
Q08What changes when I join?
You are registered and listed as an association member florist, and gain support coordinating regulations with venues and organizers, access to the bulk-collection scheme, and advice when trouble occurs. Where venues adopt a policy of giving priority to member florists, you are covered by it. In return, we ask you to operate according to the guidelines: advance checks, explanations to users, collection responsibility, and reporting obligations.
Q09Who is responsible for collecting a delivered flower stand?
Member florists are, in principle, responsible for collecting the stands they deliver. We ask you to confirm collection times in advance, designate a person responsible, prepare alternatives in case collection is not possible, and report completion to the venue or organizer where needed. If individual collection is a heavy burden, consider using the bulk-collection scheme run by the association or its partners.
Q10Can I accept an order if the venue's regulations are unclear?
If acceptance or regulations are unclear, do not confirm the order on your own judgment. Check with the organizer or venue, and accept the order only after clearly explaining size, decorations, delivery time, and collection time to the user. If you do not know whom to ask, you can also consult the association.
FOR VENUES & ORGANIZERS
For Event Organizers and Venues
Q11We want to create acceptance rules for flower stands. Can you help?
Yes. Based on the guidelines, we work with you through the ten items to clarify: whether stands are accepted, maximum number, size limits, delivery and collection times, placement, delivery address, how to write details, contact point, and whether a fee applies. Please reach out via the contact form.
Q12Is it acceptable to charge an acceptance or safety-management fee?
Yes. Considering the management burden of accepting flower stands — reception, securing space, attending deliveries and collection, handling inquiries, safety checks, and temporary storage of uncollected stands — you may set an acceptance fee or safety-management contribution. We recommend designing it so it is not an excessive burden, balancing the interests of users, florists, and organizers. We can help with the design.
Q13What is the bulk-collection scheme?
A system in which the association or a partner company collects flower stands together, to reduce the burden of late-night collection after shows and of individual pickups by multiple florists. Before introduction, we define the scope, collection fees, collection times, disposal after collection, how florists and users are informed, the conditions under which stands count as uncollected, and how completion is reported. Waste-disposal laws and municipal rules are checked before operation.
Q14What are the benefits of giving priority to member florists?
Fewer regulation violations, lower risk of uncollected stands, a clearer contact point, more efficient delivery and collection management, clearer responsibility when trouble occurs, and acceptance of stands that meet safety standards. We can also help you design a priority or recommendation policy.
ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION
About the Association
Q15Is the Japan Flasta Association a body that restricts flower stands?
No. The association exists to protect and grow flasta culture, not to restrict it. Our aim is to align expectations among stakeholders, prevent trouble, and create an environment where flower stands can be sent with confidence. Where an event, organizer, or venue has its own regulations, those take priority.
Q16Does the association compensate or mediate individual disputes?
Production, delivery, collection, refunds, and damages in individual transactions are, in principle, handled according to the contract between the customer and the florist. The association may help organize information or advise on prevention where needed, but does not assume responsibility for all losses or disputes. See scope of responsibility for details.
Q17Can only florists join the association?
No. Besides the member-florist program, we welcome venue partners (venues and theaters that cooperate on acceptance operations), partner companies (in related fields such as insurance, logistics, and event management), and supporting members (companies and organizations that endorse our mission). Please contact us via the contact form.
Q18Can I request an interview or a talk?
Yes. Media requests and speaking or seminar requests on flasta culture and the guidelines are welcome via the contact form. We will review the details and get back to you.
